How to Throw the Perfect Halloween Party

One of the holidays we look forward to in the fall is Halloween. It is one fun night to get creative and dress up as something cute, funny or spooky. Nothing beats hosting the best costume party your guests will be talking about until next year. Our event staff for hire can help with all your Halloween party needs.

Here are the top three things to consider when planning your fun fall event!

#1 Boo-tiful Décor

All great parties start off with a great theme! Whether you want to go for a more classic or scarier route, you can mix together different fall décor to achieve the best look. Start off with the basic fall decorations – fall leaves, pumpkins, lanterns, witch statues, and fake spider webs. From there you can decide to add friendly or spooky spiders, ghosts, and skeletons. You can never go wrong with a Frankenstein decoration!

#2 Spooky Treats

You don’t need to be a chef to put together great food! But you can score some cool points with creative treats for your guest!

Make the treats fun with some Halloween inspired food. Take simple meals and give them a Halloween sping. Here are some treat ideas to try!

Spider Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:

  • Whole wheat bread
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Raisins
  • PB & J
  • A biscuit cutter, round cookie cutter or a drinking glass

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Cut rounds from your bread. Ours were small, about 2 1/2 inches across and we got 3 rounds out of each slice of bread
  • Slather on the PB & J (or any sticky filling like cream cheese.)
  • Position 3-4 pretzel sticks in the center of each round, tips touching. Using another round of bread put a lid on top.
  • Dab a raisin in some PB and press on top of lid.

Mummy Dogs
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent rolls or 1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet
  • 2 ½ slices American cheese, quartered (2.5 oz)
  • 10 hot dogs
  • Cooking spray
  • Mustard or ketchup, if desired
INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.
  • With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).
  • Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like "bandages," stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2 inch from one end of each hot dog, separate "bandages" so hot dog shows through for "face." On ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down); spray dough lightly with cooking spray.
  • Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. With mustard, draw features on "face."
